West Bath Parent Teacher Organization

The West Bath School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) is comprised of members of the school community. The PTO supports the students' education by helping to plan events and raise funds to assist the school in providing the best education possible. Much of the programming we support and other financial resources we provide would not be possible without the parent volunteers and the generosity of families and friends. The PTO usually meets the 3rd Wednesday of the month at 6:30 in the West Bath School library and encourages any parent interested in joining us to attend the meetings.

Our fundraising efforts, not only benefit students academically, but also build community spirit. The PTO organizes family gatherings such as a "Kick Off Picnic" to start the year, a spaghetti supper, and a family dance. We have an annual auction or raffle; organize the annual "Christmas Craft Fair", and run a book fair twice a year along with other events. These allow us to provide funds for classroom teachers to purchase items as needed, support the library, purchase school-wide equipment such as digital cameras and recess equipment, and improve the playground.

The PTO not only supports extra curricular activities, but it also plays a critical role in enhancing our children’s academic experience at West Bath. The PTO supports enrichment programs that provide our children with invaluable cultural experiences such as an author visit, in-school performances, and field trips to the symphony or theater.

This is just a sampling of some of the wonderful things provided by the PTO. All of this is possible only through the efforts of our PTO volunteers. Participating in the PTO is rewarding, fun, a great way to meet other parents, and an essential part of ensuring our children’s success. Participation provides parents with a unique opportunity to have a positive impact on their children’s education. It is also an opportunity for the children to learn about community involvement and become a part of the solution. We hope you’ll join us!
